GUARANTEED INVESTMENT CERTIFICATES (G.I.C.s):
As a Deposit Broker we are able to shop
Canada – wide for the highest rates
available on G.I.C.s every day. We are also
members of the Federation of Canadian
Independent Deposit Brokers (FCIDB) and as
such, adhere to the “Code of Ethics” and
“Standards of Professional Conduct and
Procedures” of the FCIDB.
MUTUAL FUNDS:
We have mutual fund representatives on staff
who are able to offer you a wide range of
mutual fund products. With the MGI
Financial Inc. as our mutual fund dealer,
the mutual fund representatives can help you
find the right fund to suit your investment
needs.
Labour Sponsored Funds:
A Labor Sponsored Fund (LSF) is designed to
help create jobs. Monies on deposit in a LSF
must be invested in small to medium sized
companies, which is where most new jobs are
created. Canada Revenue Agency uses the tax
system to encourage investment in these
funds by allowing a 30% tax credit on top of
the usual RRSP savings (if the investment is
registered). However, the extra incentive
comes with a higher degree of risk. Contact
one of our mutual fund representatives to
see if a LSF will fit into your portfolio.
Segregated Funds:
A segregated Fund is a
life insurance contract that can be used as
an investment similar to mutual funds but
with some added guarantees. We now have a licensed
insurance agent on staff who can handle
“Seg” funds.
All of the above investments can be placed
in unregistered (open) or registered
accounts.

RRSP LOANS
We are able to offer RRSP loans at prime
through the National Bank of Canada. In most
cases, the loan can be approved in just a
few hours and you are able to use the loan
proceeds to purchase any of the RRSP
products that MGI offers. You are not
restricted to a National bank product, as
you would be if you obtained a loan through
most other institutions.
